Creating, designing and implementing excellent and appealing product designs for millions of users worldwide

Your job
Product Design at Océ is about designing and implementation. You work on the quality, innovativeness and vision of Océ’s brand equity. As an in-house designer you not only develop single products, but you build and nourish a portfolio of products. 

You work in our Research & Development organization surrounded by highly skilled professionals. Together you develop our future products. You create, guard, improve and implement your design ideas into products. You want to raise the bar, and are driven to make novel, excellent and groundbreaking products.

Exciting changes in (information) technology will change the way users interact with products. You imagine how these changes could influence and benefit our products. With your creative vision and designs you ensure we are at the forefront of these changes.

Being a Canon Company is more than a name tag. We have close relations with the Canon Design Centre in Tokyo. For example we take part in the development of visionary projects on a yearly basis. Moreover you cooperate and share ideas and practices. 

Context of the position
Océ is one of the oldest technology companies of the Netherlands. We have a great history in product development. Our innovations have always been focused on printing and copying. Currently we are growing into the world of graphic arts. With over 100 design prices, our strength in product design is recognized throughout the world. We share our knowledge and keep learning from other with our strong links with universities and regular lectures at symposia.

3D Product Designer Job Requirements

Who are we looking for?
• You are a (junior) Product Designer with a (industrial/product) design education or background. Preferably you have 2- 3 years of experience related to adding creative ideas and concept approaches to product lines 
• Demonstrated creative proficiency with supporting portfolio 
• Knowledge of production processes and materials, strong awareness of aesthetic excellence and design quality
• Strong in communicating and presenting design concept and delivering powerful and inspiring (visual) presentations. 
• You are a team player with a positive drive and independent attitude, enjoy taking the initiative and strong process skills, thriving in an open-minded, multidisciplinary and international environment 
• Fluent in spoken and written English
• Eligible to work in the Netherlands

Department
The Océ Design Team (± 25 professionals) is located in Venlo, but partnering with all Océ R&D sites worldwide and the Design Centre of Canon. Our goal is to create one unified user experience for all Océ solutions: hardware, software as well as services by delivering usability and intuitiveness from a user perspective. The focus of the team is on user profiling, interaction design, visual design, product design, prototyping, and design validation.
