SENIOR PRODUCT ENGINEER (M/F) Job Description

The product engineer is responsible for qualification and characterization of our Smart Card products. This IC is then going into Mobile modules and need to be qualified in an industrial environment.

In cooperation with R&D and Industrial Test developers you are responsible to qualify our Secure Element products in defined Foundries and back end sites. After the qualification execution, you are responsible for the transfer of the product in our Asian manufacturing sites with the right level of cost, qualification and manufacturability. 

Overall you are the technical interface between the component development team and the production side (Front End and Back End). You remains responsible for the product during its production life.

Tasks:

During the qualification phase:

• Realizes the qualification plan and drives the execution with internal/external partners
• Checks the robustness of the product with the corner conditions: matrix lots and production spread
• Ensures that the products fits to production capability: Cp/Cpk
• Recommends test limits/specification adjustments and other changes to get good manufacturing performance (yield, costs, quality)

• Optimizes the product together with the test engineer to ensure smooth manufacturing before and after release gate
• Qualifies multi sources when needed in phase with our sourcing strategy and in accordance with our customer acceptance
• In some cases he or she keeps the product responsibility until its end of life

SENIOR PRODUCT ENGINEER (M/F) Job Requirements

Education and technical requirements:

• Bachelor / Master or Diploma in Electrical Engineering, Physics or equivalent
• Strong knowledge of statistical and physical analysis methods / tools and laboratory measurements
• Knowledge of manufacturing, product reliability and qualification processes
• Used to work with yield simulation programs
• Proven experience in automatic test equipment and tools
• First experience in semiconductor industries and project management skills

• Strong communication skills and excellent problem solving / analytical skills
• Positive, committed and structured approach
• Fluent English (written and spoken), German is a plus
