Process Engineer (m/f) Polymer Technology, Technical Support Job Description

Responsibilities

• Prepare engineering analysis of projects to include: preliminary design, calculations, life cycle cost, profitability estimation and equipment selection
• Conduct surveys to gather field data
• Prepare and interpret blueprints, schematic drawings, layouts and other visual aids
• Prepare technical engineering and construction specifications
• Initiate and support technical development work, collect and validate experimental results
• Supervise / initiate implementation of technology improvements into our standard design and finally to our customers
• Supports the client in communication with equipment vendors

• Support of plant start‐up and project implementation
• Manage project issues, budgets and schedules
• Act as consultant for internal / external customers
• Perform process engineering duties surrounding the following: mechanical devices, components, motors and actuators, environmental control, conveying equipment, materials handling and extruders
• Perform chemical engineering duties like: thermodynamics and reaction engineering
• Conceptual design and lay‐out of powder / pellets handling equipment
• Provide technical presentations to elected persons and clients
• Provide on‐the‐job training for customers

Profile

• Chemical / Process Engineering degree (B.S. or M.S.) with at least 5 years relevant experience in process industry or
• Technical Engineering degree with at least 8 years of experience in polymer process technology
• Self-motivated, energetic, and team oriented
• Good verbal and written communication skills
• Interpersonal and multicultural skills
• Ability to work in teams
• Knowledge of HSE issues in relations to plant operations

• Skilled in using Excel for data generation, analysis and tracking
• Word for word processing
• Advanced math skills
• Competence to understand “abstract” principles behind physics and chemistry
• Ability to travel worldwide to meetings, site visits and inspections
• Willingness to work flexible schedule from time to time
• Fluent English
