Our customer is a multinational with several focus markets. For one of the markets they are developing and producing high end cables for power and data. To this end they are setting up a business unit and a second production plant in The Netherlands. The market is focused on Sub Sea cables, with a worldwide base of customers.
Job description
The Application Engineer is involved in a wide range of activities and has various responsibilities. You will be involved from initial technical customer contact, quotations, pre-qualification to delivery acceptance tests. You are driven by customer intimacy and are capable of managing complex, international, projects. Technological innovations, needs of customers and their requests are changed into turnkey solutions based on your technical and commercial skills. Furthermore, as advisor and sparring partner you will be able to convince the customer of their need for these distinctive products and their quality. In-house you will work with other project members from the Sales, Engineering and Process Improvement departments.
Activities:
As a technical specialist you have the ability to provide solutions for complex technical problems within this specialized field.
· Technical Bachelor or Master’s degree, a study in Applied Physics or Electrical Engineering is preferred
· At least 10 years of experience in a similar position in an international and industrial setting
· Communication skills in English, preferably also in the Dutch and German language
· Enthusiastic and passionate, with a strong focus on results
· Excellent communicator who is also capable of convincing stakeholders
· Innovative and analytical
· Self-starter; independent, pro-active and initiator
· Willingness to travel frequently
