Warranty Engineer Job Description

We are looking for a Warranty Engineer with the skills and  drive to create more bandwidth within the European Warranty team and to become the  back-up for the Claim and Warranty Manager.
  
Job description
The Warranty Engineer will become involved in all Warranty related topics. Different aspects that will be part of his/her activities are; Contract Reviews, Contract Negotiations, Claim Analysis and Project Lead, Warranty Claim Negotiations, Warranty Forecasting & Actual reporting and Warranty Software availability. The Warranty team in Europe works with Customers as well as with Suppliers.
Due to the various aspects in this role the Warranty Engineer will work close with Quality Engineering, Marketing and Sales, Finance, Purchasing and the European Management team. Visualization of warranty field data helps Sensata organization to prioritize and align activities in order to minimize costs.

Job requirements

• Employs expertise on warranty contracts, customer warranty chargeback processes (e.g. technical factor process), customer portals field data.
• Represents the organization as the principal customer warranty contact and performs leadership role in warranty  programs / projects.
• Aligns with the key members in senior management on progress and strategy, works close with Sales and Marketing Director in case of high claims.
• Deploys warranty expertise and T&D through whole supply chain.
• Visualize Pareto on Field Performance in order to drive organization for focus on effective improvement programs
• Negotiation until settlement directly with customers and suppliers on significant claims.
• Supports development of software solutions required in the Warranty and Charge Back Management department.
• Assures proper root cause analysis and corrective actions.
• Coordinates lessons learned.

• Bachelor/Master mechanical engineering.
• 5 years Automotive experience, Automotive Warranty/Quality experience preferred.
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written in Dutch, English and German.
• Communication and social skills in order to be the intermediary between our clients and our production plants.
• Strong “commercial talent” for negotiating at customers until settlement.
• Knowledge of project management is a must. Candidate should be able to deliver a constructive contribution in teams where different disciplines are represented (design engineering, process engineering, procurement, production etc).
• Able to set priorities; stress resistant.
• Skills and drive to grow in the role in order to become replacement for the Claim and Warranty Manager.
