    Account Manager (Based in the Netherlands or Germany) Job Description

    About a quarter of the world’s drinking water leaks out of aging underground pipes before reaching anyone’s tap.  Echologics is helping to lead a global charge to change this through technological innovation.  Our innovative technology and services allow water utilities to manage their pipelines based on reliable information about their condition simply by placing sensors on valves and fire hydrants.  With custom-engineered technologies for detecting and locating leaks, as well as distinguishing healthy pipes from degraded ones, Echologics offers our customers a truly unique set of information-gathering tools.
    Our environment of technical innovation, professional integrity, individual achievement, and personal growth has allowed Echologics’ team to rapidly grow a large presence in North America.  We are now expanding into Europe, and have found tremendous demand for our technology.  We are looking for key team members to drive our growth and help water utilities through Europe.

    This position is for an Account Manager who will develop a new territory for Echologics.  Through a combination of technology evangelization, networking, and the use of the Solution Selling methodology for aligning our offerings with customer needs, you will help establish us as Europe’s leading provider of pipeline condition assessment and leak detection.  If the successful candidate thrives in this role, there is the possibility of it evolving into a leadership position as our European presence grows.

    The initial territory for this position is Germany, Austria, Switzerland, select accounts in the Netherlands. The position will involve up to 75% travel as you meet with clients within your territory.  You may be based at our European office in Almere, Netherlands, or nearby with the expectation of spending 25% of your time working out of our European office.  Initial training will also be provided in our headquarters near Toronto, Canada.

    Account Manager Responsibilities:
    Your focus is to sell Echologics’ services and technology in your assigned territory.  Echologics has established a network of contacts and begun spreading the word of the opportunities presented by our new technologies, which you can leverage in your sales efforts.  Your primary duties will include:
    • Meet assigned revenue targets
    • Adopt the Solution Selling process to gain understanding of key customer issues and impact
    • Leverage existing partners and agents in your territory and further develop this network
    • Engage in a variety of customer engagements including cold calling, sales visits, giving presentations, writing proposals, attending conferences, writing case studies, etc.
    • Maintain and update account and opportunity information in sales database, Salesforce.com

    Account Manager (Based in the Netherlands or Germany) Job Requirements

    • Fluency in German and English, with preference given to candidates also fluent in Dutch
    • Proven track record of exceeding established revenue targets
    • Proficient in Solution Selling or another sales methodology focused on understanding and resolving your customers’ business needs
    • At least one of:
      • Minimum 5 years of experience selling information solutions, such as enterprise software, asset management systems, or engineering services to large accounts
      • Deep knowledge of water systems, particularly pipeline condition assessment and leak detection industries, together with some sales experience
    • Sales or project management experience for government, municipal, or utility sector
    • Energetic and self-driven, with good time management skills
    • Willing to travel up to 75%, primarily within your territory
    • Able to travel internationally within your region, as well as to Canada and the US
    • Have and maintain a valid driver’s license
