NLR’s mission is to increase the sustainability, safety and efficiency of transport.
NLR is the Netherlands Aerospace Centre for identifying, developing and applying advanced technological knowledge in the area of aerospace. Our activities are relevant to society and market-oriented. We thus strengthen the innovativeness, competitiveness and effectiveness of government and business.
Do you want a challenge with responsibility in the world of Aerospace?
Have you completed a HBO or University (ICT / Computer Science) study?
Do you, as a top talent, want the opportunities to further develop yourself and do you want to learn a lot while working?
Are you enthusiastic about working together on sustainability and innovation?
What are you going to do?
You are the expert who can come up with and develop software solutions yourself. You will make an expert and enthusiastic contribution to various software solutions that are used within aviation.
An example? You work on a system that maps which routes planes fly and what this means for the annoyance of local residents. Or how about a system that tells an air traffic controller exactly where planes are in the air? When an airport wants to know which runways have to be used, you start working with your new colleagues. You can develop, modify and of course maintain new applications. A nice offer, right?
Besides knowledge of computer science, you also have the talent to work together with a wide variety of specialists in aerospace systems.
You can make the translation like no other to suitable solutions and advice that our customers ask for.
What does your new work environment look like?
NLR, dedicated to innovation in aerospace, is the organization in the Netherlands in the field of aerospace. Around 600 people work together; from aircraft engineers to psychologists and from mathematicians to application experts. The Environment and Policy Support department focuses on independent technical research and advice for the sustainability of air traffic. For example, we do systematic research into the noise pollution around airports and we develop methods and systems to reduce the environmental impact. The knowledge that has been built up in an international context is directly applied to the daily operation of (inter) national airports and in policy issues for (inter) national governments.
What are you taking with you?
• HBO or University training (Technical) Informatics;
• Knowledge of and preferably also experience with distributed systems and internet applications;
• Front-end and back-end (full-stack) development;
• Experience with programming languages such as Java, C ++ and JavaScript;

What do you get from us?
• Training and development opportunities;
• A challenging job in a high-tech work environment;
• An (international) field of work with a lot of potential;
• A culture with space to be yourself and where you can leave your tie or suit at home;
