Application Development Manager (m/f/d) 3D Printing
YOUR TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The CCO (Chief Commercial Officer) Community has responsibility for innovation management, supply chain management, and the commercial activities of our business units. This includes the Polyurethanes, Polycarbonates, and Coatings, Adhesives, and Specialties segments.
3D printing is a new area where Covestro has strong ambitions to grow its business in specific products. This position objective is to lead application development projects with regional customers and cooperation partners. Furthermore, to develop and optimize processing of thermoplastic COV products for 3D printing.
- In your new position, you will manage the internal and external technical projects in cooperation with the Business Development and Commercial Operations departments
- You will identify and explore new technologies and customer requirements in the 3D printing industry
- You will control the optimization of printing processes for Covestro products and also develop 3D printing expertise
- Initiating and managing product development projects in collaboration with Research & Development, external materials processing partners and printer manufacturers will also be among your task
- You are responsible for the functional management of laboratory technicians and students: Organisation and prioritisation of activities in consultation with the Research & Development and Business Development department
- Furthermore, you will support the knowledge transfer to and from APAC and NAFTA regions
- You will also evaluate the Intellectual Property of third parties and write your own patent applications to protect materials, processes and applications
- In addition, participation in industry fairs, conferences and regulatory committees are part of your duties
WHO YOU ARE - You have successfully completed your engineering master's degree in thermoplastics processing or have a comparable education in a similar subject area
- You have several years of professional experience in application development with thermoplastics, in 3D printing or other plastics processing technologies
- In addition, you have sound knowledge of thermoplastic polyurethane and polycarbonate (properties, processing, production, formulation, costs...)
- Strong interdisciplinary and international project management skills characterize you
- Strategic and analytical thinking enables you to translate complex customer requirements into product specifications
- You have a customer-oriented attitude and excellent communication skills in dealing with internal and external customers and partners
- You are an enthusiastic team player (m/f/d) with distinctive intercultural network competence
- Fluent English and German skills, written and spoken, round off your profile
