Job description
“TU/e is a community of scientists supporting staff, students and partners. People are our heart and soul, so it is of great importance to safeguard the distinctive Eindhoven atmosphere, creating a personal, welcoming and vibrant environment that enables everyone to grow professionally and personally” (TU/e Strategy 2030).
Not only is TU/e a university where students are educated but it is also a place where there is also a lot of groundbreaking and innovative research going on in all sorts of areas. Research that is worth telling the (outside) world about. Our science communications officers play an important role in this. They share academic and scientific knowledge and research results with a clearly expressed target group and communication objective. For example, towards the (international) media as well as professional journals, scientific platforms and via our own website or socials - the choice of platform depends on where the target group is located. Showing who we are and what we do is important. For example, to attract good new academics and scientists or to interest partners in collaborating with our university. Our science officers work on the basis of a well measured research communication strategy.
They keep their eyes on current events and respond to them. They invest in a good online presence in Linkedin/Twittergroups and science sites, and also build good contact with a relevant (press) network. They provide solicited and unsolicited advice to our academics and scientists in the form of media training, among other things, as requested.
