The Rotating Equipment Engineer is responsible for the provision of advice to the assets on continuous improvements of the maintenance and availability of major rotating equipment in order to achieve maximum production uptime and to keep maintenance costs as low as possible. In this role you are responsible for optimizing the maintenance of main rotating and marine equipment through timely analysis of data retrieved from the CMMS and for the review of maintenance strategies versus status of the technical installations.
• Executes FMECA and RCM studies where required and applicable;
• Trains and coaches maintenance engineers and other CMMS users (onshore and offshore) regarding his area of expertise;
• Is responsible for proposing, creating and reviewing planned maintenance amendments for existing, new and deleted main rotating equipment;
• Develops and assures continuous improvement through reporting, evaluation and review;
• Reviews and analyzes maintenance records in CMMS and make recommendations for improvement;
• Supports the Maintenance Coordinators/ Superintendents and offshore Maintenance Superintendents in their day to day business and work in close liaison with them;
• Supports the offshore Marine/Maintenance Superintendents and acts as onshore point of contact for the equipment, which falls under the term rotating (ships) equipment;
• Monitors the status and performance of main rotating equipment through condition monitoring;
• Actively participates in preparation of maintenance/service/health care contracts for rotating equipment;
• Keeps knowledge and procedures up-to-date on all relevant aspects and shares this within the section;
• Reports regularly to superior on personal achievements and section matters;
• Checks work of colleagues to improve quality;
• Correctly administrates work;
• Uses and maintains corporate standards. Develops and proposes improvements.
• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent;
• Over 8 years of experience including hands-on maintenance of ships and process equipment;
• Knowledge of operations and maintenance of major rotating equipment: different types and sizes of pumps and compressors (especially high capacity compressors), gas turbines, diesel engines;
• Ability to facilitate/perform RCFA, FMECA, Critical Spares Analysis,
• Ability to troubleshoot the problem on site and support troubleshooting remotely
• Experience in contract management, contract preparation for maintenance and service of rotating equipment
• Ability to set-up/review and improve maintenance plans for rotating equipment,
• Basic user knowledge of any CMMS,
• Knowledge of condition monitoring methods and applicability
• English good, verbally as well as in writing;
• Knowledge of offshore legislation;
• Knowledge of class & flag rules;
