    OFFSHORE
    Working offshore on one of our vessels means that you are at the heart of the action and taking an active part in shaping the future of the offshore industry. Our offshore crew members are dedicated and determined to get the job done efficiently without losing sight of safety.

    On board the vessels, our marine and construction crew work 12-hour shifts based on a schedule of five weeks on and five weeks off.

    Marine crew
    The marine crew comprises three main teams: nautical, technical and catering. The nautical crew is responsible for sailing the vessel; the technical crew (engineers and mechanics) maintains the installations and equipment on board such as the main engines and electrical plant; the catering crew (cooks and stewards) provides catering and cleaning related services for all crew on board.

    Construction crew
    The construction crew co-ordinates and executes all the preparatory work in the pipeline factory, providing the services necessary for the vessel to execute Allseas’ core business, pipeline installation. To this end, welders work together with bevel machine operators, coating operators, riggers and quality inspectors.

    Electrical Engineer / PLC Programmer Job Description

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Electrical Engineer with a proven track record of designing and developing control systems and PLC programming to join our Innovations Department in Delft, the Netherlands.

    As part of a highly skilled, multidisciplinary R&D team, you are designing, developing and implementing the control systems and developing new PLC software for new engineering solutions and processes that advance the capabilities, performance and efficiency of Allseas’ vessels and equipment.

    This challenging role offers a chance to work all over the world, with a variety of projects, challenges and opportunities for personal development.

    Responsibilities

    • Prepare specifications, budgets and planning, and define scopes of work for control system and PLC software development work for automated machinery
    • Design and develop control systems and software in collaboration with mechanical and electrical engineers
    • Prepare analysis, design calculations, parameters and/or sketches for the development of new systems
    • Evaluate and improve the existing systems/tools based on the current demands 
    • Program PLC, HMI and SCADA systems
    • Design industrial network systems
    • E&I engineering and build of the for prototypes of new equipment
    • Test and commission new equipment
    • Prepare design and test reports
    • Provide engineering support for end users for the new systems/tools

    Electrical Engineer / PLC Programmer Job Requirements

    Requirements

    • BEng/BSc/MSc degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronic Engineering or a related discipline
    • Experience with the design of electrical control systems
    • Experience with PLC (Siemens S7, CoDeSys)
    • Experience with E&I Engineering
    • Practical attitude
    • Good command of the English language, both written and spoken
    • Willingness to work on short-term assignments abroad
