Powertrain Engineers Job Requirements

Base Engine Design / Development / Test Support: Design / matching / development of key systems: Air / Fuel; Oil / Breather; Emission / Exhaust; Turbocharger; Ancillary and Installation; Sensors and Actuators.
 
Core Engine Programme Management: Generating assumptions and alignment with targets, and forging links between a range of departments – from Product Development and Manufacturing to Purchasing.
 
Engine Calibration and Control: Development and interface between Engine Management System and Vehicle and / or working knowledge of base engine calibration including ignition, fuelling, VVT and knock.
 
Transmissions and Driveline: System and component design and release – for example, automatic and manual transmissions; transfer cases; axles.
 
Transmission, Driveline Gear Selector Electronics: Leading teams to design develop and deliver software solutions.
 
Powertrain CAE Analysis: Tribology, Powertrain Multi Body systems analysis, Powertrain CAE Vehicle Analysis.
 
Powertrain Systems Module Leaders: Programme management for cooling, exhaust, fuel and air intake systems, including advanced concept package, design and test.
