Experienced Network Engineer Job Description
As a Network & Security Engineer, you will work in a team together with another network engineer, a system engineer and a storage engineer. Together, you are responsible for all daily operational tasks and project implementations for our client’s infrastructure environment. More specifically, you will be responsible for:
- Conducting projects related to network and security areas: implementation of new devices or new technologies, upgrades of existing devices, migrations… in a complex and critical environment. For these projects, you will be working on the architectural design, the implementation and the troubleshooting.
- The operational management of the Local Area Network.
- The operational management of the Wireless LAN environment.
- Overarching management of Wide Area Network services provided by third parties.
- Operational management and monitoring of the Secure Internet Access.
- You ensure a good documentation of the network configuration.

Experienced Network Engineer Job Requirements
- You have at least 5 years of experience in a network and/or security engineering position.
- You have the following technical skills:
- Cisco Routing and Switching (CCNP certified at least)
- routing protocols (BGP, OSPF, EIGRP, ...)
- switching protocols (spanning tree, VLANs, dot1q trunking, ...)
- security devices (Checkpoint, Netscreen, Juniper, Juniper SSL VPN, Cisco ASA, ...)
- load balancers (Cisco ACE, F5 Big-IP, ...)
- Bluecoat proxies
- wireless LAN networks
- You have good troubleshooting skills.
- You approach incidents and problems in a structured and analytical manner and you can work independently.
- You have a strong customer focus.
- You are fluent in both Dutch and English OR French and English.
