Network Engineer Job Description

For our customers office in Delft, the Netherlands, we are looking for a Network Engineer. The Network Engineering Team is located within the Information Technology (IT) Department and comprises complementary roles of highly skilled Network Engineers who provide support and carry out maintenance tasks on IT infrastructure in our customers offices and on vessels.

Responsibilities

• Perform network maintenance activities;
• Assist with installation and configuration maintenance of hardware and network devices;
• Respond to user support requests, questions, or issues related to networking problems;
• Ensure that IT service remains active 24/7; in case of incident, resolve issues and ensure normal IT service is resumed quickly;
• Support in the development of network-centric features, functionality and product-offerings;
• Write (technical) documentation;
• Plan projects for the offices and vessels;
• Apply maintenance schedules.

Network Engineer Job Requirements

Requirements

• MBO or HBO degree in Information Technology;
• MCITP and ITIL certified;
• Minimum 2 years’ network engineering experience;
• Minimum 5-7 years’ hands-on experience with controlling infrastructures and servers;
• Familiarity of Microsoft products;
• Proven track record of working in highly scalable networking environments or large-scale hosting experience;
• Proactive attitude, with ability to work independently and in cross functional team projects;
• Ability to troubleshoot and solve complex network problems;
• Good command of the English language, both written and spoken;
• Follow relevant courses to keep up-to-date with new networking ideas/concepts/issues;
• Willingness to travel.
