Senior Service Account Manager Job Description
Your Role
As Senior Service Account Manager, you will have the opportunity to apply your commercial skills and natural leadership qualities on an international scale, within our growing company. Your goal is to devise the best service for our customers. You will translate the customers' wishes into a specific service concept and take the lead in the commercial process, converting this concept into a services contract. Throughout a system's life cycle, our customers' business and logistics operations change. You will ensure that the system remains optimally aligned to the customers' processes. To this end, you will initiate discussions with maintenance managers and business owners, which lead to process studies and the sale of system modifications.
Throughout a sales cycle, you will monitor progress and motivate both internal and external parties involved. You will maintain an external network, being sensitive to suitable opportunities to recommend Vanderlande experts. You are able to identify market developments within Warehouse Automation and Parcel & Postal, and you initiate new concepts and services.
Tasks and responsibilities
- Offering products and services from Vanderlande's service portfolio to new and existing customers, tailored to the customer's current and future needs. Negotiation and securing of service contracts
- As part of the sales team, you make a substantial contribution towards the bidding process for new Vanderlande Material Handling Systems, being responsible for the service element of the tender. This applies to the full scope of service products (Site-Based and support Maintenance & Operations contracts, life cycle plans, future system modifications, optimisation studies, etc.)
- You will be responsible for maintaining relationships with your customers at various levels. You will also be capable of building a multi-disciplinary team of Vanderlande experts around an account, with a view to achieving the best outcome for the customer.
- Periodical evaluation of the relationship between the customer and the company. This involves initiating (new) service activities for the customer and identifying potential threats.
You will also remain alert to new opportunities to grow the business. This involves the following tasks and responsibilities:
- Compiling business and account plants and setting (financial) targets. You will be responsible for achieving revenue and profit targets
- You will identify market opportunities and convert them into new service developments, demonstrating your persuasiveness and leadership qualities in doing so.
Your DepartmentTogether with your team you are responsible for developing the service business for the customer group within the Warehouse, Parcel & Postal market segment. You will be part of the team of Service Account Mangers and work closely together with the Service Sales Engineers and Business Development Managers. In addition, you will also work with the service operations teams, service project management and process engineers. This collaboration will enable you to remain up-to-date on internal processes and developments within the Service department at all times, being able to advise customers optimally and create opportunities for new sales.

Your Profile
- A relevant (HBO) Higher Professional Education;
- Minimum 7-10 years' experience as a sales manager and / or account manager;
- Excellent communication, presentation and negotiation skills;
- Entrepreneurial and capable of maintaining internal and external relationships
- Excellent command of English;
- You must be willing to spend up to 35% of your time travelling.
