ASML - Beam Delivery and Focusing -Project Manager Job Description

As a Project Manager, you will be a key player in a very fast paced, multi-disciplinary environment. Primarily you are responsible for the timely delivery of all aspects that involve the alignment and conditioning of the CO2 beam path. As the design is far from finalized, you will be managing a project of architects and designers from several competences like thermal architecture, mechanics, electronics, mechatronics and optics, to drive the design to completion and bring it to volume production. As the program is managing systems in the field at the same time as well, this means you also have a lot of interaction with our customer support sector. Besides that, contact with other sectors like supply chain management, logistics, procurement and manufacturing will be part of your daily work as well, as key to meeting the end goal of your project is a successful transfer of your deliverables to these sectors. In this role, you will have formal responsibility to manage your project resources and scope and hence you will report to the program cluster manager.

Job Description
You have the formal responsibility for a multidisciplinary project that works on the overall CO2 optical beam path. Main Responsibilities:

• Drive the (cross competence) project to deliver budgets, metrology and tooling  to deliver and validate an accurate alignment of the CO2 beam path - driving for both data analysis and simulations where necessary
• A proactive and reactive drive to prevent issues from occurring via e.g. FMEA processes and steer  upon changes in case escalations show that the wrong choices have been made in the past - this means to contain these situations as soon as possible and show the ownership to drive for structural solutions where needed
• Ownership on the whole CO2 beam alignment and conditioning functionality: this means realizing that in the end, the success of your project might not only be determined by the sum of the work packages defined at the start of the project but really is about a successful transfer of your functionality to our sectors.

Experience

• Minimally a master degree with 7 years of work experience (PhD requires at leas 2 years of management experience).
• Minimum of 7 year relevant experience in a multi-disciplined design task related to complex modules. Clear experience in managerial roles with teams larger than 10FTE and a strong ambition to develop further in that area.

• Strong self-propelling behavior. Good (English) communication skills in technical and managerial interactions, also towards key suppliers.
• Well-disciplined in all aspects of the design and integration process.
• A drive for quality, combined with a mentality to stick to the plan.
• Used to take initiative to reach difficult goals.
• As for all ASML functions the team player skills are essential.
• Able to quickly react on new insights like field escalations to change the plan when needed.
• Able to deal with pressure on already aggressive plans.
