    Software Engineer (m/f) for Modem Calibration & Characterization Job Description

    You will be responsible for providing software tools for verifying Intel’s Modem hardware and software's features, characterizing system performance, Stability and Power Consumption testing in GSM, UMTS, LTE and future 5G technology.
    Within a small team of software developers you will responsible in providing software tool Intel internally to our validation, production and customer support teams as well as software delivery and support to our customer base. This includes also being a partner while capturing requirements from our system architects and validation engineers.
    Understanding of Physical layer, MAC procedures and Radio Resource Control protocol specifications in LTE air interface standards is a clear plus.

    You will need a good understanding of digital and wireless communications systems, RF propagation, and modem test concepts

    Since our current implementations are done in C++ and Python scripting, Programming in Python and a good understanding of C/C++ is required.

    Qualifications

    Minimum Qualifications

    • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field.
    • 2 years of programming in C/C++ and Python scripting
    • 2+ years Systems Test/Validation Engineering or related work experience  
                                                                                             
    Preferred Qualifications
    • Master's degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering or equivalent experience preferred.
    • 4+ years in mobile communication system testing or characterization
