Lean Six Sigma Expert - 12 month fixed term contract Key Responsibilities:
• Plans, supports and provides training to others in the Six Sigma methodology, including: Executives, Champions, General Management, Black Belts and Green Belts.
• Provides assistance and be a resource to Champions, functional departments, and business units in identifying, planning and implementing Six Sigma projects that will provide optimum benefits resulting in significant business improvement.
• Provides active and aggressive leadership in problem solving efforts on key projects to improve quality, reduce cost and improve cycle time, i.e. wasted time, scrap, rework, etc.
• Liaises with other business unit locations on projects that have a multi-organisation or business unit scope.
• Achieves targeted savings by managing Six Sigma projects.
• Identifies and work to remove barriers that slow or prevent the successful completion of a Six Sigma project.
• Provides project technical assistance and mentoring to Black Belts on an as requested basis.
• Actively mentors a number of Black Belts and participate in detail on each of the Black Belt's projects.
• Provides management with project status updates, feedback, and appropriate reporting on key, process-focused objectives.
• May determine new methods and procedures.
• Seeks out new avenues for building internal and external relationships; maintains contacts with existing relationships.
• Interfaces with senior managers on issues related to the area of expertise. Interacts with and influences management and/or customers on significant issues. Core Knowledge/Skills/Competencies:
• Proven leadership skills and business acumen. Performance-driven.
• Excellent understanding of analytical tools and statistics, capable of explaining the theoretical derivations of probability and statistics.
• Able to drive the effective use of statistical problem solving and quality tools through leadership, consulting and training.
• Excellent training and presentation skills with solid communication capabilities and practices, both oral and written.
• Broad strategic thinker, with clear vision and direction of world-class change management and a passion for the Six Sigma methodology's as a strategically critical business philosophy.
• Good working knowledge of the principles and philosophies of total quality management and high performance work systems.
• Respected and trusted leader with a proven track record of achievement, solid technical skills and a reputation as a leader of change.
• Good project management skills.
• Actively facilitates and/or leads continuous improvement teams, with sound negotiation and problem solving skills.
• Strong interpersonal capabilities, and able to work cross-functionally with other leaders on sensitive and/or emotive issues.
• Knowledgeable in company's strategies and change philosophies.
• Provides leadership in Customer Satisfaction and Continuous Improvement Programs.
• Able to combine aggressive initiative with professional discipline and demeanour to accomplish difficult tasks through other people.
• Demonstrates a keen desire to continually learn and grow. Motivated by successes.
• Has a strong sense of loyalty to the organisation and its overall success
• Master Black Belt Certification
• Execution of Lean Manufacturing concepts and principles, SPC, FMEA, DOE, and advanced statistics.
• Completed Facilitative Leadership course Typical Experience/Education:
• Bachelor's degree in related field, or consideration of an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Master Black Belt / Lean certification
