This is the Role
As Process Engineer at Eastman Chemical Middelburg, you will compose process designs for capacity expansions/improvements in the field of safety and technology. You’re responsible for the successful integration of process safety into the final process design. Besides that, you will be training operators and you’re highly involved in the commissioning and start-up phase of new installations. You work closely with professionals from Production, Maintenance, Safety and Technology. Your mission is to safely and successfully design and start-up new production facilities.
 
In this role, you will be based at our production site in Middelburg in The Netherlands. At this site, we manufacture resin products which are applied in adhesives, tires, hygiene, packaging, coatings, paper production, paint, food industry, cosmetics, pharmaceuticals, textiles and building products. The facility exports more than 90% of its total sales to 70 countries worldwide.

Process Engineer Job Requirements

This is who you are
As a Process Engineer, you’ve got excellent interpersonal skills, you’re a good communicator and you’ve got strong analytical skills. You’re self-motivated and able to work independently as well as in a team with Manufacturing, Technology and other internal and external partners.
 
You’ve got the ability to champion ideas within a large organization and to lead project teams and improvement initiatives. You work effectively in a busy, rapidly changing multilingual, multi-cultural environment.
 
This is what you bring

• Completed bachelor’s/master’s degree, preferably Chemical Technology
• 5 years of process/design experience in the chemical industry
• Fluency in English is required, fluency in Dutch is a preference
• Project leadership experience
