To create new optical components, optical designs and optical (sensor) systems that will become future ASML products. This includes scouting for new design and manufacturing techniques, creating concepts and evaluating different solution directions.
Job Description
Responsibilities of an optical design engineer in the Research “Optical Sensors and Systems” group:
-Participate in projects that involve new optical components or systems, in those projects you take the responsibility for the optical design, from first principles to a fully toleranced design
-Be a sparring partner in the system design discussions, representing the optics part of the team
-Create new ideas and concepts that can be used in current or future projects
-Build on the “Optics design” competence within ASML, by bringing in experience and knowledge in one or more of the following areas: Optics design, Optical concepts, Optical design software, Optical manufacturing techniques, Opto-mechanics, Optical manufacturing companies
-Generate intellectual property
Education
Master’s or PhD (Preferred) in Physics with a strong focus on optics.
Experience
Minimum of 5 years’ experience with optical design.
Personal skills
-Team worker and excellent communicator.
-Strong technical background and drive towards solutions.
-Solution minded and able to see and develop the bigger picture.
-Decisive and self-initiating.
-Result focused and a “can do” spirit.
-Ability to influence without power.
