    Motor Test & Verification Engineer Job Description

    What will you do as Motor Test & Verification Engineer?
    In this challenging role you'll be responsible for:

    • Maintenance and continuous development of the motor test setup including fixtures.
    • Defining and executing design of experiments (DOE), this includes testing procedures and test plans for motor sensitivity analysis, motor verification and integration tests.
    • Ensure that testing and measurement activities are planned and carried out while ensuring a high quality result.
    • Perform data analysis on the acquired testing data.
    • Ensure that generated knowledge and testing results are documented and communicated correctly and effectively as a basis for design iterations.
    • Handle complex test situations, be able to analyse undefined problems and find a solution. 

    Motor Test & Verification Engineer Job Requirements

    What do we expect from a Motor Test & Verification Engineer at Lightyear?
    To succeed in the dynamic world of Lightyear, pro-activity, professionalism, communication and adaptability are crucial. In addition, we are looking for someone with an ambitious attitude who learns from the past (tried and tested) but who is especially open to transforming new developments or ideas into the "tried and tested" of the future! You are also someone with a high sense of responsibility and a cooperative attitude. You like short lines of communication. You have excellent communication skills, you are a self starter with a ‘can do’ mentality. You can create/build from scratch, you are committed, punctual, quality minded, a team player, flexible, stress resilient and of course a fast learner. Furthermore you'll bring:

    • A Bachelor or Master degree in Mechatronics Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or Control Engineering or equivalent.
    • At least 3 years of full-time working experience in a similar role with testing and validation powertrain systems (Formula Student , Solar Team or Hyperloop team is also valid)
    • Knowledge of rotary electromotors, motor design, systems design
    • Experience testing and validating complex products from concept to production
    • Experience testing and validating complex products from concept to production
    • Hands-on experience in data acquisition, data processing and data analysis in Matlab or Python. Preferably experience in simulating test set-ups in Matlab/ Simulink.
    • Hands-on experience with 3D modelling software (Catia preferably)
    • Knowledge of relevant manufacturing processes
    • Availability for 40 hours per week
    • Strong communication skills, both verbally and written. Knowledge of the English language (professional) is mandatory. Dutch is preferred.
