    How can we strengthen our customer base in a demanding and competitive market? How can we execute the strategic account and portfolio plan consistent with principal business targets?

    As the Senior Sales manager major accounts you are the lead commercial interface between LYB and its key northern European based customers. The main segment of your customer portfolio is active in the Styrene Monomer business. You are responsible for negotiating new and expiring contracts with the larger customers in this business.
    Your highly visible role focuses on connecting with people of which the external customers deserve your main attention. At the same time the alignment with internal stakeholders is business as usual because you will be responsible for supporting and guiding all sales related business functions such as logistics, customer service and credit with regards to the requirements of the customer base in the region. There is also a strong connection with business management and legal in defining and aligning on major account contract terms and structures. And finally, there are many interactions with US and global business.

    You are a seasoned Sales/Account manager with experience in a (Petro)chemical corporate company. To be successful, it is important to maneuver comfortably in a multinational environment with senior internal and external stakeholders. You possess the attribute of working independently and at the same time knowing who to align with in the company to achieve timely implementation of objectives in accordance with business goals.
    The styrene business is a dynamic commodity business, where quality is a given and differentiation is achieved through a strong focus on understanding the customer’s needs. It is a highly competitive market, with a broad range of customers in many chemical segments. To keep a strong customer base your strength lies in building and maintaining effective customer relationships. The assets you bring to the playing field are integrity, negotiation skills, interpersonal skills and organizing skills.

    Senior Sales Manager Major Accounts Job Requirements

    This is what you bring

    • Technical or Business Master’s degree 
    • Minimum 10 years’ experience in sales or related commercial functions in the (Petro) chemical industry
    • A proven track record in account/sales management
    • A proven track record of leading sales and service agreements with key accounts
    • Experience in contract management
    • In depth knowledge of key account business, strategies and market trends
    • understanding of cultural differences within the northern European region
    • Proficiency in English required, German proficiency desirable
