Supplier Quality Engineer Job Description

Supplier Quality Engineer
 
As Supplier Quality Engineer you ensure that the level of quality and performance of the of suppliers D.O.R.C. continues to meet the expectations, to resolve quality issues in collaboration with other functions in the organization and supplier, as well as to help the supplier to continuously improve.  
 
Tasks and Responsibilities

• Serve as the linking pin between the internal organization and the suppliers
• Support of the operations, engineering and purchasing department in case non-conforming materials are detected.
• With regard to NCs and SCARS:
• Coordinate and support root cause investigations
• Prevent re-occurrence of quality issues
• Monitoring progress in corrective action implementation at suppliers
• Verify that corrections and corrective actions at the supplier are effective
• Ensure documentation on NCs and SCARs is complete at closure
• Provide periodic reporting and trending
• Maintain relationship and oversight on suppliers through periodic visits and execution of supplier audits
• Drive and support continuous improvement at suppliers with the aim to improve the quality of supplied material.
• Support of complaint investigations and resolution for supplier related complaints
• Optimize and align the inspection and measurements methods and acceptance criteria between the supplier and D.O.R.C.

Supplier Quality Engineer Job Requirements

Skills, Education and Expertise:

• 5 years experience in (supplier) quality engineering
• B.S. Degree (HBO) degree in relevant field of engineering
• Knowledge of mechanical, plastics and/or electrical parts and their manufacturing methods.
• Understanding of quality system requirements (ISO9001, ISO13485 or similar)
• Experience in auditing preferably against ISO13485 standard
• Experience in execution of quality improvement projects
• Experience in project management
• Understanding of and experience with inspection and measurement methods and/or other concepts to assure quality of materials and product
• Understanding of the application of statistics in quality control
• Experience in managing relationships in an international environment
• Solid written and verbal communication skills in Dutch and English
• Experience in using Microsoft software and ERP software.
