Applied Mathematician for Research & Development (m/f) Job Description

With the view to strengthen our Basics & Simulation department, we have an immediate opening for an: Applied Mathematician for Research & Development (m/f), located in Contern.  

Main responsibilities include:
Mathematical modelling is an essential prerequisite to understand our products and processes. Therefore, modelling of product functionalities and production-related processes, as well as environmental interactions, will be a major part of your role. As a key member of our simulation team you will develop and validate corresponding theoretical approaches in order to further improve product development efficiency. As a specialist in numerical simulation, you are very familiar with multi-physics simulation topics.

Applied Mathematician for Research & Development (m/f) Job Requirements

The ideal candidate should meet the following requirements:

• 
  An academic degree (Msc/PhD) in applied mathematics or physics
• 
  Very experienced in mathematical modeling and numerics
• 
  A background in the fundamental aspects of physics
• 
  Good programming skills (e.g. Matlab)
• 
  The ability to quickly assimilate new theoretical and experimental topics
• 
  Fluency in English is required; German and French are considered as assets
• 
  A goal-oriented approach and the ability to work in an interdisciplinary manner
• 
  Key skills: creativity, team spirit and a pro-active attitude
