Auto-makers strategies are connected mainly with Weight and power losses redution (friction). Those new strategies are having a direct influence on the Automotive Suppliers development plans. SKF, world leader in the Automotive bearing industry, is driving those concepts into new products that integrate low weight and low friction features, by further improving performances.
SKF develops and industrializes sofisticated bearing units for wheels.
The purpose of this Internship in SKF is to give the possibility to further develop and grow the student competencies in the area of new Customer requirements, Performance specifications, Vehicle Mission Profiles, and wheel bearing units performance optimization.
There will be 2 main activities:
1. Giving the Internship the possibility to be directly involved in the deployment of a research project into an Industrial Environment.
2. Let the intern grow and develop his professional profile in a multi-cultural high-technology environment
The internship will be splitted in 2 parts:
1. A period as introductionary training on SKF, Automotive area, Automotive Development Center and Engineering in Airasca (Italy)
Visit of manufacturing channels, test laboratory, metallurgical laboratory, field return center
Visit of SKF Engineering & Research Center in Nieuwegein, the Netherlands
2. A period in SKF Automotive Development Center in Nieuwegein, the Netherlands
Receive training on SKF proprietary bearing application simulation tools
Improve presentation skills by several project presentations and receiving constructive feedback
Cooperate with a multi-cultural international community within a global company
