Continuous Improvement Officer Job Description

The organization is part of an American multinational, market leader in aircraft interiors. The development of (steam) ovens takes place in the central area of The Netherlands. Clients include renowned airlines and aircraft builders all over the world. Approximately 5000 people are employed by the company, of which about 140 in the centre of Holland. 

The company has been a successful producer of aircraft kitchen appliances since the 60s. They are global market leader with their steam conventional ovens. Their work is based on the Continuous Improvement principle, with client order-driven production and short delivery times.

For the Quality Assurance department they’re looking for a Continuous Improvement Officer.

Objectives
Support, initiate and facilitate the continuous improvement of business processes in the Innovation Center.

Responsibilities

• Support/advice process owners on continuous improvement
• Lead continuous improvement activities/sessions like Kaizen events, Value Stream Mapping, DMAIC Six Sigma improvement projects, 5S etc.
• Facilitate meetings like FMEA, Risk assessments, brainstorming etc.
• Document best practices
• Train people in Continuous Improvement methods

Continuous Improvement Officer Job Requirements

Bachelor’s degree from four-year college or university
2-5 years related experience in manufacturing industries, preferably R&D environment
Technical /management background
Lean Six Sima blackbelt or equivalent
 
Skills
Good knowledge of Lean/Six Sigma
Excellent facilitating skills
Analytical, practical, flexible
Supportive, curious nature
Fluently spoken and written English
