Product/Quality Assurance Engineer

This position will be closed as soon as we have found the right candidate Start date and Duration: 6 months project starting a.s.a.p. Possible extension.

Tasks and Responsibilities

• Acting as main interface to the customer and the subcontractors for all quality and safety aspects on the projects issues;
• Surveillance of subcontractors with respect to quality and safety related matters;
• Conducting hardware inspections for assemblies, as well as incoming and outgoing inspections;
• Review and approve project documentation including documentation from suppliers;
• Overseeing of MAIT activities including Final Acceptance/Qualification Tests;
• Participation in Design, Test Readiness and other standard project milestone meetings;
• Chairing the delivery review board (DRB) with the customer and internal representatives;
• Support projects teams in terms of RAMS activities;
• Managing approval processes for components deviating from applicable standards (RFA, PAD, RFD and RFW);
• Managing NCRs and ensuring proper corrective action and close-out:

1. Processing of quality documentation (e.g. non-conformance reports) by using the SAP system, incl. the tracing of the implementation of the corrective and preventive actions;
2. Moderator of NRBs for the disposition of non-conformance reports;
3. Lead failure investigations including related documentation and presentations.

• Establishing or coordinating the Product Assurance relevant project documentation such as:

1. End Item/Acceptance Data Packages;
2. FMEA/FMECA;
3. CIL;
4. Hazard Analyis;
5. QSL;
6. Process-, materials-, and component lists for design reviews;
7. Certificates (CoC / CoA);
8. PA plan, MIP & KIP plan, C&CCP;
9. Documents needed within the acceptance process.

Product/Quality Assurance Engineer Job Requirements

Experience and Education

• University degree in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or in a similar relevant discipline;
• Several years of professional experience in supporting complex subsystems with involvement in quality and RAMS activities;
• Knowledge of optical instruments;
• Working experience in Space Industry is a strong asset;
• Configuration management knowledge;
• Knowledge of standards such as EN9100, ECSS and MIL;
• Ability to quickly understand and analyse technical products/technical systems and their function;
• Ability to work independently, individually and as a part of a team as well as good communication skills;
• Very good knowledge of English and German.
