Senior Expert ESIA (Environmental and Social Impact Assessment)

In this position you are responsible for the entire ESIA section of our large-scale projects as a subproject manager or project coordinator carrying out the following tasks:

• providing independent ESIA management within the framework of the overall project
• supporting the project management in all ESIA-related aspects
• preparing/calculating the ESIA framework conditions and specifications for offers and subcontracts
• drafting, reviewing and negotiating contracts for (mostly local) subcontractors
• administrating and handling the main contract as well as the subcontracts
• being the interface between the technical project and ESIA
• providing technical leadership and monitoring subcontracted services
• ensuring compliance with the specified standards (Equator Principles, IFC, EBRD, etc.)
• handling ESIA in the project team in Munich, Vienna or Innsbruck and on site (trips and stays abroad required)   
• providing support for or organizing public hearings

Senior Expert ESIA (Environmental and Social Impact Assess) Job Requirements

• degree in relevant discipline (urban and regional planning, biology, environmental engineering, environmental technology, environmental planning and engineering ecology, civil engineering, law or geography)
• minimum 5 years of professional experience
• knowledge of contract law
• excellent command of English
• experiences in project management and leadership
• strong negotiating and communication skills, flexibility
