Tasks and Responsibilities

Thecandidate will join the Robotics team as part of the System & Ground Segment department, whose activities cover the complete product development life cycle, for a range of European Space Agency (ESA) and European Commission (EC) funded robotics projects.

The work will include: ·         

• The technical lead for the conception and design of prototype robotic systems studied in the frame of EC and ESA Space Exploration projects; ·         
• The design and prototype manufacturing ofcomplex robotic components (e.g. force feedback exoskeleton);  
• The position is located in our offices in Zaventem (Brussels) and will involve some international travel with short collocation periods for working with international partners.

Mechanical Engineer Job Requirements

Qualifications and Experience ·
         

• Master or PhD degreein Mechanical Engineering with 3 years of experience in industry;·         
• Proficiency with CAD tools,Finite Element Analysis (static analysis) and Dynamic Analysis (moving or deployable structures), basicexperience in thermal analysis; ·         
• Hands-on experience with robotics mechanical components design, materials, manufacturing tolerance, manufacturing follow-up, assembly, verification and testing; ·         
• Very goodcommand of spoken and written English.
