Advanced Development Engineer Job Description

As a member of the Advanced Development department, you are developing future complex glass modules that AGC will deliver.

You analyze customers’ requests and specifications for concerned modules
You identify most appropriate subcontractors/partners and build-up the required relationship with them in order to develop modules. You follow-up these outsourced activities and challenge the technical solutions proposed. You make sure that the integration of the different components runs smoothly.
You propose and evaluate adequate solutions regarding assembling operations (gluing, encapsulation, extrusion,…).
You integrate cost-related aspects all along the development process.
You contribute to the choice of the plant allocation, you define the assembling method, you transfer your know-how to the industrialization team and you support them to succeed in this step.
Together with the plants, you take responsibility for the quality and for the technical and economical performances of the produced parts.

Advanced Development Engineer Job Requirements

Profile You have a master degree in Material Science, Mechanical or Electro-Mechanical Engineering.

You have several years of experience in Development, best in the Automotive sector.
Experience in plastic components design and/or in Automotive exterior modules is an asset.
You have basic skills in mechanical simulation (FEM - Abaqus, Ansys) and experience in reading drawings with CAD softwares (Catia V5,…).
You can operate in English, the knowledge of German is an additional asset
You demonstrate strong leadership and excellent relational skills with both internal and external interlocutors
You have a strong personality. Creativity, rigor, efficiency and enthusiasm are your strong points.
