Have you developed a passion for new technology, and do you want to work in an exciting international environment? Then you could be our new team member in the Control System department in FLSmidth. You will join a group of 10 highly competent colleagues and be based at our headquarters in Copenhagen. Your new position will offer you the opportunity to join international project teams executing high quality control systems to our customers worldwide. Your primary role will be to contribute to providing interface solutions between the PLC system and intelligent units/smart devices.
Detailed Description
Develop high quality control systems to our customers worldwide
Your primary role will be to develop, maintain and test the interface between PLC systems and intelligent units/smart devices such as variable speed drives, motor starters, medium voltage equipment etc. Expect to be involved in the following working areas:
- Feasibility studies of interface solutions to new intelligent units/smart devices
- Development of PLC and HMI code required for interface intelligent units/smart devices
- Preparation of user manuals and technical documentation
- Inspection of boards based on intelligent units/smart devices
- Support and trouble-shooting
From time to time, you will join project teams and participate in the execution of high quality control systems from A-Z to our customers all over the world. Furthermore, you will take part in continuous development and optimisation of FLSmidth’s competences and tools. Lastly, you will have an active role in inspections and support on a global scale and can anticipate up to 60 yearly travel days.

Result-oriented Engineer with control system expertise
- You hold an Electrical Engineering degree or similar and have great expertise with control system solutions/projects.
- In addition, you have solid experience in a wide variety of different PLC brands and field bus types and are confident making high quality PLC and HMI solutions.
- You have solid knowledge of PLC programming (IEC61131-3, FBD, LAD, STL), and are able to establish an interface between PLC systems and equipment connected to the field buses. Moreover, you know how to configure/parameterise various types of variable speed drives, medium voltage relays, motor starters and power monitors.
- It is natural for you to work across cultural differences, and you possess strong cooperation skills.
- Furthermore, you are a powerful team player with an open mindset who focuses on achieving results that ensure a high level of customer satisfaction.
- You will be working in a global organisation where the main language is English, and if you master another major foreign language, it will be a plus.
