Project Engineer (Corrosion) Job Description

Job Description:

The position will report to the Technical Manager and the main responsibilities will include:

• Consultation with potential clients and discussions in order to identify suitable corrosion testing methods/techniques for (sour-service) materials qualification.
• Meetings may also involve visits to clients and therefore international travel 
• To issue quotations to potential clients on specified projects/work programmes
• To conduct and organise projects in an efficient manner, and to maintain close liaison with clients concerning results and project progress
• Issue technical reports at a time and frequency as specified by the client
• To assist in the development of new testing techniques and provide technical input and improvements for existing testing methods 
• To foster a strong technical affiliation with clients and to deliver projects on time and within budget 
• To assist in the commercial development of the business through enhanced technical reputation

Project Engineer (Corrosion) Job Requirements

Preferred Skills:

As a successful candidate, you will hold an honours degree in metallurgy/corrosion science as a minimum qualification with demonstrable knowledge of structure/property relationships of ferrous materials, and specifically with regard to environmental degradation processes in saline environments and sour service applications.

Strong customer focus, a team player ethic and a positive disposition to learning in a challenging environment is essential.

We are looking for a self-motivated person with the ability to multi task, organise and work under the pressure of a busy work environment. You will be expected to possess excellent verbal communication skills as well as the ability to present clear and concise technical reports, delivered on time and to client requirements.

Diligence, accuracy and an eye for detail are pre-requisites for the successful applicant.
