Automation & Control Experts Job Description

Position description

Wärtsilä Services is looking for Automation and Control Experts to our Technical Services team in Finland to further strengthen the existing team of Automation Expertise for our systems. For us it is essential to provide full support to our customers throughout the entire lifecycle of Wärtsilä deliveries. You will enjoy challenges in a multicultural environment in respect of organizations and product applications in both power plant and marine installations. You are located in Vaasa or Turku.

Responsibilities

In an Expert position in the Engine Automation team
you are responsible to give expert assistance like: 

• Technical support for internal and external customers 
• Support new product commissioning 
• Make site surveys in connection with troubleshooting for deeper system analysis 
• Participate in creation of instructions and training material 
• Assist in training of customers as well as own personnel. 

• Participating in the introduction of new automation products 
• Making field follow up material 
• Participating in field tests 
• Making feedback analyses and product reports 
• Supporting the warranty follow up 
• Making product documentation, improvements and upgrades 
• Supporting product documentation by providing content to service bulletins 
• Checking content of operating and maintenance manuals 
• Developing simulation and test equipment to be used as tools for troubleshooting and customer support. 

Automation & Control Experts Job Requirements

Requirements

• MSc or BSc in Automation or Control Engineering or an equivalent education 
• Capable of being autonomous in work as well as being a flexible team player 
• Good command of English, both oral and written 
• Good communication and presentation skills 
• Willingness to travel 
• Earlier experience of technical troubleshooting as well as experience of automation and control systems for combustion engines is seen as advantage.
