In the Technology department, new systems are developed, designed and maintained for both land and marine applications. When this involves the birth of new systems, the involvement is from concept right through to volume production. Close cooperation with other disciplines such as marketing, production and purchasing is an essential success factor in our work.

The Technology department is a dynamic multidisciplinary group of about 50 skilled engineers based at various locations around the world. Besides the multidisciplinary cooperation from a technology point of view, there is great importance placed on communications and respect, both essential aspects of the job and required for maximizing the results. The high quality products have their birthplace in Technology. Here, new ideas are generated and mature into innovative products that are ready for production and  satisfy the customers needs. Following the development process, teaming, accountability and time-2-market are additional keywords. All activities are project-based. 

Function

The Lead Engineer will work in a global team and be required to specify, design and develop innovative and reliable analogue, digital designs to satisfy functional specifications that are fit for production at lowest cost. The position will lead and be fully responsible for the developments and designs that take place in conjunction with other engineers, some of whom may be based at other locations. To ensure quality, it is essential that at every stage of the programme, the appropriate documents are created and maintained in accordance with company procedures. Planning will be a key aspect of the role.

Lead Engineer (Electronic) Job Requirements

For this position you have:

• Bachelor/Master degree in Electronics.
• 10 Years post graduate experience in producing hardware designs for volume manufacturing.
• Thorough knowledge of microcontroller and microprocessor designs.
• Excellent understanding of analogue, digital and power supply design fundamentals.
• Experience in designing and testing for EMC.
• CAD using Mentor Graphic tool or equivalent.
• Knowledge of industrial communication protocols and understanding of the oil and gas industries and relevant standards for intrinsic explosion safety (a.o. ATEX) is a very strong advantage.
• Ability to follow design and development processes, structured approach.
• Strong planning skills and able to perform under pressure.

• Commercial view, cross-cultural sensitive, punctual.
