Thin Film Architect Job Description

Your challenge
The Thin Film Architect drives the innovative solutions for complex thin film applications and products. He/she initiates and defines new process flows and is technically responsible for the correct functioning of the integrated thin film process. The Thin Film Architect works with the (Senior) Development Engineers in the area of process flow design of integrated thin film applications and products for internal and external customers with the purpose of delivering a process flow to enable the processing of complex samples

Your responsibilities
The Thin Film Architect:

• Is responsible for the creation of the architecture in easy to maintain and extendible thin film process modules. Ensures the mutual consistency and efficient integration of the separate thin film process modules that meets the product specification.
• Leads multi-disciplinary projects and is involved in innovative projects across domains
• Guides the (Senior) Development Engineers in the process design and implementation of the process modules.
• Sees opportunities for thin film application or products and realizes these opportunities, where applicable by involving other technological expertise/competencies than his own.
• Influences or has considerable contributions to the roadmap of the customers in his domain.
• Defines areas of competence development in the thin film technology area.
• Acquires assignments for 5-10 FTE’ s per year.
• Pro-actively communicates with all stakeholders, including clients, senior management, professional network and colleagues.
• Complies with the Environment Safety and Health (ESH) policy, rules and regulations 

Thin Film Architect Job Requirements

·    Master Degree or PhD in relevant engineering or related domain
·    Is seen both internally as well as externally as an authority in the thin film technological domain
·    Has experience with competence development in the thin film technology area
·    Has considerable knowledge about other technological disciplines
·    Has significant architectural skills
·    Has proven pragmatic skills. Is a solution driven and creative person
·    Knowledge of  â€• and experience in ― the use of primary tools (DOE, SPC, Problem Solving, Teamwork, etc.)
