Group Leader Laboratory Job Description

Within the Grodan Group Marketing & Development Department the position of

Group Leader Laboratory
Location: Roermond (1FTE)

The Group Leader Laboratory is responsible for managing all Grodan Group laboratory activities.You manage and participate in a.o. development and knowledge generation projects and within these projects you work closely together with all other departments within the Grodan group. You manage and coach a small team in their personal development and in the achievement of the objectives.

The Group Leader Laboratory will be stationed at the head office in Roermond and will be reporting to the Project Manager Marketing & Development.

The main responsibilities of this challenging, international position are:
• Manage, coordinate and act as participating foreman in all Grodan Group laboratory activities;
• Define a laboratory year planning in line with the action plans of the Grodan Group departments in terms of laboratory planning, budget, equipment, maintenance and outsourcing;
• Manage or participate in development projects initiated by the Marketing & Development department. As such responsible for all related internal or external laboratory activities and reporting of results; 
• Manage all quality oriented laboratory activities, e.g. as a result of complaint handling support and advice quality-and project managers and field engineers;
• Generate information about or develop alternative measurement-or analyse methods servicing development projects or quality activities;
• Motivate, develop, manage and facilitate laboratory employees (3 FTE’s) to enable efficient and effective goal realisation; 
• Keep filing results, procedures and working instructions up to date. 

The requirements to fulfil this position successfully are:
• Bachelor degree in Chemistry, Applied sciences or other related studies;
• Fluent (verbal and written) in Dutch and English;
• Experience in project management;
• Ability to plan and align laboratory activities to planning of different projects/complaints or market implementation;
• Proven reporting skills;
• Basic expertise in statistics;
• Personal skills: Flexible, initiative, cooperative and team player; 
• Some international travel will be required.
