The Pipelines team have substantial expertise in the design aspects of subsea and land pipelines. This expertise includes high temperature and high pressure service conditions, pipe in pipe systems, reeled pipelines, flexible flowlines, dynamics flexible risers and riser caisson systems. We undertake on bottom stability, upheaval buckling, lateral buckling, spanning, fitness for purpose and strain based assessments. Non-linear finite element software (e.g. Abaqus & Orcaflex) is used to carry out advanced analyses.
We are looking to recruit a Principal in our London office to grow and manage an existing team.
Job Responsibilities
This significant position within LR Energy’s Compliance and Engineering Services Department (CESD) provides technical, operational and strategic leadership to the LR team delivering pipeline-related compliance and engineering consultancy services. Reporting to the CESD Engineering Manager, this role provides a vital element in achieving LR Energy’s strategic aims in the UK market.
The CESD Pipelines team have substantial expertise in the design aspects of subsea and land pipelines. This expertise includes high temperature and high pressure service conditions, pipe in pipe systems, reeled pipelines, flexible flowlines, dynamics flexible risers and riser caisson systems. We undertake on bottom stability, upheaval buckling, lateral buckling, spanning, fitness for purpose and strain based assessments. Non-linear finite element software (e.g. Abaqus) is used to carry out advanced analyses and Oraflex for dynamic analysis of risers.
The Pipelines Team Lead will be responsible for the delivery of design engineering services for both operational, new construction and other contracts. The position will liaise with the other technical specialists and team leaders to provide a cohesive service delivery capability across the breadth of our compliance, integrity and consultancy activities.
Based in London, it is anticipated that short stays elsewhere will be a necessary part of the role as will some element of travel.
