Description
The Instrument Engineer analyses site equipment performance and responds to plant operational events. Drives site asset improvement in the areas of safety, reliability and equipment capability. Liaises with suppliers, contractors and project teams in acquiring instrumentation, ensuring that specifications are met and following the project through to commissioning.
We are looking for candidates with a degree in Electrical, Electronics or Process Control Engineering. Knowledge of the design and maintenance requirements of field instruments and instrumentation systems including flow/level/pressure/temperature devices, orifices, control valves, shutdown valves and Emergency Shutdown systems. Broad knowledge of hazardous area installations and ESD logic design. 5-10 years relevant professional experience within the petrochemical or Oil & Gas industry at an operating company or an engineering contractor.

Drive site asset improvement in the areas of: Safety, Reliability, Environmental Performance and Equipment Capability
Support major capital projects in the areas of design consulting, technical quality assurance and start-up assistance

Qualifications
Degree in Electrical, Electronics or Process Control Engineering
5+ years professional experience required - preferably within an operating company or a major engineering contractor; petrochemical industry or oil & gas experience strongly desired
Technical Knowledge and Skills
Detailed working knowledge of design and maintenance requirements of field instruments (flow, level, pressure, temperature, valves, etc ) and instrumentation systems
Calculation and selection of control valves and flow orifice calculations
Knowledge of Logic design and specification of Emergency Shutdown (ESD) Systems and experience with commissioning.
Proactively apply engineering and problem solving skills to meet challenging safety and business objectives.
Knowledge of instrumentation and equipment for use in Hazardous Areas (ATEX)
High interest in oil refinery and petrochemical processes and control related aspects
