Control & Automation Engineer | E&P | Africa | Expat Job Description

Our client is an independent system integrator for the oil and gas industry. Core business is tailor-made solutions for development and redevelopment of production facilities in upstream oil and gas production worldwide.

Our client runs both mono-disciplinary and multi- disciplinary (EPC) projects.One of the projects is a brownfield project in West Africa and contains an overhaul and expansion of the control and automation systems (FGS, DCS, IPS, AMS, CCTV, BMS, etc). The project is currently in the construction engineering phase.

The commissioning phase will be started up in the spring of 2015. The Control & Automation Engineer will be working at the engineering (construction and pre-commissioning in the Netherlands) and the site commissioning in Africa from March 2015.
You will be working with Control & Automation, Instrumentation, HVAC, IT, DCS (Yokogawa CS3000 / VP), IPS/FGS (Honeywell FSC/SM) AMS, CCTV, BMS, PAGA, etc.

Your main tasks will be:

• Performing quality review on all documents ready to be issued.
• Ensure that all internal discipline reviews are held and support the lead engineers thru the review processes.
• Ensure compliance with corporate and project QMS and HSE procedures.
• Control project scope, targets and deliverables that support the contractual agreement of the Concept Design and Detail Design Phase.
• Proactively identify changes in project scope, identify potential crises, and devise contingency plans.
• Report on progress, issues and concerns, to the lead engineer.
• Control technical project scope any report any chargeable changes.

Control & Automation Engineer | E&P | Africa | Expat Job Requirements

You have at least ten years of Engineering experience in Oil & Gas multi-disciplinary Electrical, Instrumentation, HVAC, IT, and Control & Automation projects.
You have a Bachelor or Masters degree in the field of electrical engineering and/or industrial automation.
You have experience in working independently and in a team-oriented, collaborative environment

• Strong and clear communicator
• Strong analytical capability and problem solving “can do” attitude
• Persuasive, encouraging, Self-starter
• Substantial experience in E&I Brownfield projects
• You speak English and preferably French
