Manager, Technology (Extrusion, Molding, Testing) Operations Job Description
- Operationally manage the EMT shifts, the testing team and the EMT maintenance & support team (24 FTEs). Own EMT laboratory equipment and facilities;
- Lead safety-related activities relevant to the EMT area (training, investigation, improvement…). Drive high quality and safety standards and lead improvement efforts in these areas;
- Prioritize work from multiple stakeholders within capacity constraints, via proactive communication with stakeholders;
- Measure lab performance (turn-around-time, throughput, efficiency) and drive improvements;
- Propose and execute capital projects (up to several hundred thousand dollar scope);
- Appraise performance of team members, coach direct reports;
- Drive quality processes and systems to meet or exceed quality standards ( Ex ISO 17025, Underwriters Laboratories…), maintain data quality/integrity/accessibility;
- Interact globally with peers to maximize global capacity and efficiency;
- Lead introduction of new equipment, techniques and methods;
- Build and maintain expertise in polymer processing and testing;
- Drive automation, digitization and process improvement programs to enhance lab efficiency and output;
- Participate in product and process development programs;
- Work within a global functional team on EMT capacity utilization, capability enhancement, knowledge exchange and trouble shooting;
- Provide consultation, technical expertise and trouble-shooting support to Technology, Manufacturing and Marketing teams.

Requirements
- At least Bachelor degree in Polymer Technology, Polymer Chemistry or a related field;
- 5 yrs experience in plastics product development;
- Strong knowledge of polymer processing, testing and physical/mechanical properties;
- Strong people management and team building skills;
- Ability to organize, prioritize and handle multiple projects simultaneously;
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills;
- Demonstrated technical leadership;
- Flexibility, creativity and analytical skills;
- Results oriented and pragmatic personality;
- Ability to work in cross-functional and global teams.
