Position description

As Upgrade & Maintenance Advisor, you advise, as an experienced engineer, VMI customers on achieving optimal use of their VMI machines, and you make proposals on modifying these machines to a later or the latest VMI standard. You advise the customer on machine maintenance and its proper planning and organization. On this, you have close contact with the responsible Area Sales Manager or Account Manager.

Internally, you are an information source and you identify possible improvements in VMI standard training and machine documentation. Your daily tasks include management, updating and optimization of presentation material and extension of standard upgrade packages. As Upgrades & Maintenance Advisor, you have an eye for possible new standard upgrades and how operation, maintenance, training and advice thereon can be made possible. When implementing inspection and modification projects, you have an initiating, supervisory and corrective task.

You will be working in Customer Services, part of the Commercial Department.

 

Upgrade & Maintenance Advisor Job Requirements

Are you an experienced engineer who combines thorough experience as an engineer in machine building with good communication and commercial skills? Are you looking for a new challenge where you can nicely combine these qualities? Then this position is right for you!
 

• Education: Dutch HTS in Mechanical Engineering or Electrotechnology, or equivalent
• Hours: 40 hours per week
• Thorough engineering experience in machine building

VMI seeks

As Upgrade & Maintenance Advisor, you have thorough knowledge of old and new (preferably VMI) machines and you can consult on this with customers in a solicitous manner. You combine a thorough technical background with good communication and commercial skills and you can transform consultation results into specific advice and proposals. For both the customer and internal colleagues you are an information source with an eye for possible improvements. You also have the following:
 

• a completed Dutch HTS education in Mechanical Engineering or Electrotechnology, or equivalent;
• at least seven years' VMI engineering experience, or;
• at least ten years' experience as an engineer in machine building, combined with Customer Service activities;
• good command of spoken and written Dutch and English.
