Technical Manager: Paper Machines Job Description

• As Technical Product Manager Paper Machines you are a turntable between product and application.
• Based on your forming fabrics product expertise, you generate and support the growth of the AstenJohnson forming fabrics business in the region of Southern Germany, Austria and Switzerland.
• You promote the technical capabilities of AstenJohnson’s forming fabrics solutions to further enhance sales, market penetration and market share growth and positioning.
• As Technical Product Manager Paper Machines you develop new products in close cooperation with customers in order to improve their operational efficiency, and generate case studies to relating key growth products.
• You provide solid feedback to the global product management team on the performance and potential improvements of the company's products while being a strong motivator between customers, area sales team and senior management.
• You also provide technical service and support to customers as required, although this is not a primary responsibility.
• You actively participate in sales and training seminars.
• Your working place as Technical Product Manager Paper Machines will be home office, and/or the AstenJohnson offices in Eupen - Belgium or Strakonice - Czech Republic.
• You report to the Business Line Leader Forming Fabrics.

Technical Manager: Paper Machines Job Requirements

• As Technical Product Manager Forming Fabrics you look back on a minimum of five year experience in the paper-making industry, preferably with forming fabrics. Your first-hand product experience and market knowledge is essential.
• You are technically well-versed in the paper-making process (and application of PMC/forming fabrics).
• You have strong interpersonal and project management skills and are able to work across company functions both with clients and internally.
• Out of the box thinking to be able to contribute to technical innovation is a much valued skill in your position of Technical Product Manager Paper Machines.
• With an international mindset, you are able and willing to travel as required (+ 50%), mainly in your region and in Europe.
• You are fluent in English and German.  Ideally you also speak and write French.
• You possess a strong learning agility.  
• You are entrepreneurial and ambitious to develop professionally.
• You have a bachelor or master degree as technical or commercial engineer, ideally paper related.
