Packaging Designer Job Description

In this position you are responsible for the design and execution of our creative collateral and promotional materials, and notably all packaging-related artworks and assets, in order to support our overall creative strategy, direction and vision.

Responsibilities

• Assists Global Creative Director in developing new creative packaging concepts
• Create both saleable and sample packaging for all treatment lines including primary, secondary, bottom label, packet, and insert artwork adhering to strict standards and guidelines
• Create in-house and work with outside vendors to produce product comps for our creative product development group’s approval, retailer meetings and photo shoots
• Create and draw detailed schematics for counter planogram
• Attend press runs for all packaging with visuals to ensure color and printing quality
• Oversees editing and retouching process of existing and new materials.
• Supports all departments (Marketing, Merchandising, Training, PR, Spa, global Marketing Ops) with needed creative/artworks for all assets
• Creates concepts/comps/renderings for key internal meetings
• Maintains consistent standards across all creative designs.
• Provides in-house photography and retouching.

Packaging Designer Job Requirements

Qualifications Requirements:

• Degree in a related field and a min. of 3 years of experience in global packaging/creative design roles (Luxury a total must – Beauty strongly preferred)
• Strong written and verbal communication skills – English must be on a proficient level
• Demonstrated experience using Adobe Create Suite (including InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator and Acrobat); along with a strong working knowledge of MS Office and production support software
• Proven experience in creating/designing global packaging  and printing execution
• Extremely fast, hard-working, can thrive in urgency
• Goal-oriented and results-driven, strong decision making skills
• Strong planning and organizational skills, meets deadlines.
• Easy to partner with - a good team player.
