Java Developer Job Description

As an application developer in Orbium, you will contribute to the design, development and deployment of various software components in order to build MIS and BI solutions for banks. You will participate, along with the development team, in the use of efficient build practices such as continuous integration and test-driven development based on SCRUM approach.
 
Your main responsibilities:

• Work with architects and engineering teams in understanding the requirements and looking at solutions options and alternatives
• Produce high quality code utilizing Test Driven Development techniques within SCRUM Framework
• Participate in retrospectives to drive continuous improvement in agile teams
• Run unit, functional and performance tests, analyse and improve performance and application scalability

Java Developer Job Requirements

• A university degree in Computer Science
• 1-2 years of experience in enterprise application development
• Hands-on Java SE/EE and web technologies (web services, HTML, CSS, JavaScript) know how
• Experience in Java IDE (Eclipse or IntelliJ) with exposure to tools such as Maven, JUnit, Subversion
• Database skills, preferably in Oracle, writing SQL queries and PL-SQL.
• Familiar with object oriented design patterns to develop loosely coupled service oriented components
• SCRUM methodology knowledge would be a plus
• ETL, Business Intelligence, banking operations experience would be an asset
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with a good command of English
