- The pre-development team is part of the Powertrain Engineering group.
- The Model-Based Development team is coordinating cross divisional-projects. The coordination relates to powertrain research, providing new technologies for the concept phase, engine / drivetrain design for concept integration at early stage, and engine calibration to realize concept for mass production. This is in order to meet the various requirements and expectations placed upon modern vehicles; low emissions, low fuel consumption, power performance, noise, durability, fun-to-drive, ....To achieve this, we are relying on various simulation methods correlated with physical testing methods (engine test benches, vehicle roller test cell, test track driving ... ) as well as software tools for data processing, visualization, analysis and automated optimisation.
Your responsibilities:
- Develop engine concept design activities for future emission regulations (post EU6, C02:<95g/km ... ), combined with high expectations on vehicle performance, fuel consumption and quality.
- Contribute to the development of future TOYOTA engines for the global and the European market.
- Challenge new business areas for future powertrain line-up.
- You will make your mark on powertrain team through your unique know-how.
Tasks include:
- Develop engine concept process including tools and models to evaluate at early development stage {intake / boosting / combustion/ exhaust} concepts for future engines development.
- Plan, execute test at engine bench and / or vehicle to correlate real measurement with the model.
- Build-up team expertise and competency in term of modelling and testing capability to support the simulation activity.
- Innovate by integrating various engine components models from intake to exhaust in a virtual engine environment and develop tool chain for evaluation of both diesel and gasoline engines.
