Technical Service Manager, Full time (M/F) Job Description

Job Objective:

The Technical Service Manager provides technical support to deliver profitable growth at selected Coatings and Fiber Sizing accounts. Manage targets and opportunities portfolio for the segment to successful closure.

Job Responsibilities:

• Interacts with peers in marketing, sales, and manufacturing to ensure alignment on solving customer problems;
• Speaks with customer and Account Manager to understand customer’s needs and then determines if a visit/project will be a worthwhile investment
• Presents and explains technical product/project details to customers;
• Provide training to external and internal customers. Develop technical tools to support specialty products growth;
• Provides direction, coaching and feedback to staff working on his/her project(s);
• Prepares presentations / papers for in- and external customers and industry gatherings;
• Grow technical market / manufacturing expertise through customer contacts, reading literature and conference/industry participation;
• Carries out activities living up to EH&S standards and appreciating business impact.

Technical Service Manager, Full time (M/F) Job Requirements

Education/Qualifications:

• Technical or Scientific University degree
• 5-10 year experience in related field (Technical Service, technical marketing, R&D experience is a plus);
• Technical expert with a minimum of 5 year experience in the specialty chemical industry. Experience in Coatings segment or Fiber Sizing segment are preferred and a potential differentiator.
• Fluent in English and working knowledge of German and/or French (one is required);
• Willingness to travel up to 50%
