Mechanical Technician Job Description

Functions

• Defining the modifications of existing cryogenic equipment as well as participating in the design of new cryogenic equipment.
• Organizing and following-up the fabrication process, installation and commissioning of cryogenic equipment.
• Providing technical support for the operation and maintenance of cryogenic systems located at any of the Organization's sites, working in partnership with other services and external partners.
• Managing the associated technical documentation: from the detailed characteristics of the equipment to the Quality Assurance Plan.

Mechanical Technician Job Requirements

Education 

• Higher technical diploma in the field of mechanics or equivalent.

• Experience in several of the following fields: design, fabrication monitoring, installation and testing of industrial installations, fluid dynamics, heat transfer phenomena and use of flow charts and process diagrams.
• Understanding the implication of cryogenics and/or vacuum technology on mechanical constructions.
• First experience on working in an international environment would be an advantage.

• Thermo-mechanical design: modelling (2d&3d), integration of mechanical systems.
• Thermo-mechanical assembly & installation.
• Definition of manufacturing method, process, preparation, planning, drawing, and control.
• Design of mechanical systems.
• Commissioning & maintenance of mechanical equipment & systems.
• Use of maintenance management systems.

• English or French: spoken and written.
