    The Business Unit Electrolysis & Polymers (ELP) is responsible for the world-wide business of the electrolysis, polymers, bio-polymers, base chemicals as well as gas- and high-pressure technologies.     The OU Dehydrogenation offers patented technologies for the conversion of propane and butane to their respective olefins. In co-operation with other divisions of the Business Unit ELP these can be further processed into valuable derivatives of propylene and butylene such as polypropylene, propylene oxide and ETBE.

    The market for “on purpose” dehydrogenation is growing continuously and it is our strong ambition to expand and strengthen our market position by improving our STAR® process consequently.

    Your responsibilities

    • Responsible for the „Product Design Department” of the OU ´Dehydrogenation´
    • Lead a team of specialists for non-process related topics for DH technologies as well as for PLM
    • Build-up technology expertise within OU DH esp. for layout/piping, critical equipment and reformer
    • Coordination and responsibility for all technology related design topics in view of development and standardization of the dehydrogenation technology, i.e. general design specification of equipment, standard sizing (reformer), conceptual plant design & design philosophies.
    • Support / coordinate technical Sales process with respect to the a.m. disciplines
    • Support engineerings with respect to the a.m. disciplines and managing the interface between DH and NoE in this respect
    • Support of commissioning activities as well as commissioning of relevant process units
    • Develop key suppliers / strategic partnerships for critical items
    • Support of R&D projects with focus on design, optimization of design of key equipment (Reformer, Oxy-reactor).
    • Communication, negotiations, co-ordination with clients, vendors, licensers and other partner.

    Your profile

    • University degree or equivalent master’s degree in one of the following disciplines:
      Mechanical Engineering or Chemical Engineering.
    • Several years of work experience within plant engineering.
    • In addition to the profound knowledge of equipment design, further knowledge in the area of design of reactors preferable.
    • Good knowledge of rules and standards (EN, ASME, API, IEC etc.).
    • Team leading experience preferable.
    • Fluent command of English language in speech and writing.
    • High degree of proactivity, team spirit, cross-cultural competence and ability to communicate;
      interest in a complex and ambitious scope of work as well as a great willingness to take over responsibility.
    • Mobility and readiness to work in all parts of the world for limited periods of time.
