Commercial Solution Manager Job Description

The fast-changing market for our BU Warehousing & Parcel requires Vanderlande to adapt to stay ahead. This has led us to create the new role of Commercial Solution Manager. Your challenge is to come up with business cases for new market, product and concept combined solutions.  

Your position
As the Commercial Solution Manager, you are the commercial product voice of the market. This new role supports the Business Unit Strategy and the selected market segments by translating the market winning concepts, validated insights and segment specific needs into business cases for product development. You will report to the Strategic Officer for overall Business alignment. 

The tactical aspect of this role is to represent the Business Unit over the progress in development of new solutions and to monitor the business cases in preparation of the market launch. You will have a key role, being responsible for prioritizing the business cases across the market segments according the business unit focus. You will work closely with Market Development Managers to acquire validated market information.

Our Systems Engineers will help you come up with winning solutions and concepts, where you will work with our Market Directors for strategic focus.  In this independent position, you are to create sound business cases for strategic road-map of product portfolio. You will do so using evidence based marketing strategies and thorough analysis of competitor capabilities in relation to the Vanderlande USP’s.
You will keep track of, and challenge the development of solutions in relation to the business cases and create and execute global launch- and go-to-market plans. 

Your responsibilities
In this position, you will:

• Define new product ideas based on deep customer insights and in close cooperation with market director and other product- and innovation managers;
• Play a key role within the product development process of material handling solutions, by translating validated market- and customer needs into business cases, supporting customer segmentation and targeting in selected market segments and by driving technology USP’s and value propositions to develop corresponding product positioning and messaging.
• Actively support the Strategic Officer, Market Directors and local sales organizations with the execution of market and product introductions (e.g. using sales tools, hands-on marketing/sales product training, and developing action plans to drive top and bottom line performance of your product portfolio); 
• Develop a profound understanding of the financial performance of the product portfolio under your responsibility during the commercial product life cycle.
• Ensure proper execution of Product Development and Market Introduction processes.

Commercial Solution Manager Job Requirements

Your profile

• Master’s degree in a technical and/or business field.
• Minimum of 5 years of professional experience in product management of high-end investment goods or solutions. 
• Experience in translating customer needs into technology with a preference for technology products.
• Able to challenge the way things have been done and handled, and to drive change and create focus.
• Experience in working with multinational teams within a matrix organization.
• Proven analytical, result-driven and pragmatic problem-solving skills.
• Willingness to travel internationally (10-30%).
• Strong presentation and communication skills.
• Excellent command of English and preferably another language.
• Creative mindset, strong customer focus.
