GLOBAL API ARCHITECT / API PRODUCT OWNER (F/M)

Your responsibilities and tasks

• Plan, prepare and monitor the implementation of API activities together with our CIOs and their management teams, shape our APIs according to customer needs, provide recommendations to our decision makers and be their advisor
• Design, control and execute the implementation of APIs and design the information models and system architecture of APIs for the portfolio of our products and solutions
• Coordinate representatives from corporate divisions of all levels, align with related business application teams and adjacent projects (Data Lake/Data Analytics, Cloud Computing, IoT) and ensure cross-divisional and group-wide exchange
• Monitor the quality of APIs and related processes, service performance, as well as identify and define measurements, improvements and best practices
• Steer our external partners and take part in negotiations with specialists and heads of departments, as well as maintaining relationships with them

Global API Architect / API Product Owner (f/m) Job Requirements

Your qualification for the position as Global API Architect/API Product Owner (f/m)

• University degree, preferably in information technology, business with a focus on IT, software engineering or equivalent qualification
• Extensive professional experience with “API first” mindset, IT product management, architecture and data models relevant for APIs (Microservices, REST, Internet Standards, Enterprise Architecture), requirements management; experience with API tools, processes and API vocabularies/ontologies; ideally in the area of logistics
• Experience in customer interaction, project management, senior management interaction and functional leadership of teams and working groups, in particular on the topic of interfaces/data structures is a major advantage, as well as knowledge of API specification formats (OpenAPI/Swagger) and common data formats (JSON, XML)
• Excellent English skills as well as intercultural awareness in daily communication with colleagues, managers, partners and customers; fluent business German is also an advantage
• Analytic and strategic way of working, and the ability to convince technology decision makers and the API community within Deutsche Post DHL
• A mindset reflecting independent work, perseverance and assertiveness in the face of organizational and technological challenges, as well as a hands-on mentality; preferably some practical experience in previous technical roles and/or other relevant technical skills
